Hello all!

I have a short film that I am putting together and I am need of someone who can make a prop for me. It would be a steampunk version of the Minority Report "Sonic Shotgun". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2VpLRpcL9CA Not looking for an identical recreation, but instead something a bit smaller and industrial looking. All it needs to do is be able to spin and stop.

There are a couple of other props I need but I think I can find those online. The gun described above is the only one I know will need to be built from scratch. However, I may need help on another prop or two if I can't find what I am looking for online.

If you can, give me an estimate of what this would cost so I can factor it into our budget.

You can email me at ballew35@gmail.com

Lady Art'amiss and I had a wonderful time at Clockwork Con in Austin this weekend. We had a table at the Gadgeteer's Festival alongside some of the coolest steampunk modders out there. I was able to premiere my new Steampunk Camera:

Thanks to Rob Cochrum for the photo

And a pic of super-cool steampunk modder Steve Liptak shot from my camera:

We also did a panel on "Victorian/post apocalyptic mods" with the folks from Airship Octavia XIII--Cozmo Osric Galloway, his wife Merri, and crew members. It went wonderfully!

While my stuff is mostly static, Octavia's crew modeled a bunch of their creations and did a heck of a good job. Hope we get a chance to panel up with them again soon--maybe at Aetherfest in San Antonio in May.

If you're anywhere near the University of North Texas Thursday, Dec. 1, swing by UNT for the screening of The Chrononaut, a documentary on steampunk by Abbey Hoekzema, a UNT graduate filmmaker.

Screenings will begin at 7 p.m. on the UNT campus in the RTFP Room 184. Here's a link to directions (type in RTFP in search):

Steampunk attire is not only welcome, they're encouraging as many steampunkers as possible to show up in costume for the screening.

It will be one of 7 documentaries by UNT filmmakers. Each is 8-12 minuetes long.

Here's a link to the trailer:

Our favorite Steampunk Airship Salvage Facility has been closed for a while except by appointment--they've been out scavenging the countryside for new items to tempt me with. They opened this week for five days, and I and Shadowsmith (Lady Artamiss' personal bodyguard and airship ninja)dropped in for a long overdue fix. And found some good booty. Only camera photos I have are off a pair of leg armor pieces which belonged to some guy named Rawlings. Shadowsmith decided he needed lower leg armor for some of his clandestine missions, so he sold himself into indentured servitude to me for a couple of weeks. Here is the original, after he got rid of all the Rawlings signatures:

and after he tribalized it:

Just got an email from the University of North Texas filmmaker who followed us around RealmsCon and came by the house to film us.

There is a blog about the film, which is tentatively titled The Chrononaut. Here's the link:
